A powerful diesel engine with an output of 340 kW (455 hp) and extremely high torque stability are among the features of the new high-performance milling machine models W 1900. The W 1900 has a milling width of 2.0 m (6' 7").

Also available for the W 1900 is Wirtgen's new Flexible Cutter System Light (FCS L), which allows contractors to quickly switch cutter drums from a 5/8" spacing down to 1/4". The FCS is becoming more popular because it gives the contractor more flexibility with a given machine; he can invest in a machine that cuts a standard pattern but in 2-3 hours can be changed to a pattern for fine milling.
