The new Wirtgen W 60 -- introduced in spring 2007 -- is a 208 hp, Deutz-powered machine which cuts to 12 in. deep, and its flexible rear loader is the ideal choice for trench and channel digging work. The 2-ft. (60 cm) wide cutter can be exchanged with different widths via the optional Flexible Cutter System (FCS), and it too can be equipped with the new Level-Pro leveling system.
Its powerful 208 hp Deutz engine guarantees powerful advance speed at maximum milling depth, ensuring high milling performance. But the W 60 is more than a trench cutter. These features -- with its operating weight of 30,865 lb -- makes the W 60 ideally suited for milling large surfaces and for removing entire pavements at full depth. The W 60 is available as a 3-wheeled or "at the customer's request" as a 4-wheeled model.
The W 60 replaces the W 600 DC,with engine power increased by more than 20 percent, and enhanced ergonomic design of the operator‚s workplace, enabling the driver to work comfortably and preventing fatigue. Together with the new W 100, the W 60 represents the upper class of the high-performance rear loaders.
The HT 11 quick-change toolholder system is a standard feature on the W 60.
