Convenient replacement, fast servicing
With the HT11 quick-change toolholder system, Wirtgen has engineered a field-proven solution for road milling machines and recyclers making the operation and servicing of the machines more convenient, faster and thus more profitable. Enlarging the contact surface of the upper part to completely cover that of the bottom part ensures a tight fit between the two. A seal prevents dirt particles from entering the gap between the upper part and the bottom part during the milling operation.
Upper part HT11-R for improved tool rotation
Optimum rotation of the cutting tools is often impaired by material soiling the toolholder’s drill hole. With the upper part type HT11-R, the fine particles of milled material are flushed from the drill hole via a recess at the back of the upper part. The bit is essentially prevented from sticking in the bore and the bit can be used for a significantly longer period of time due to the improved rotation. Easier access with the Wirtgen ejector tools makes life even simpler.

Strong Retaining Bolt: The retaining bolt in the HT11 quick-change system is significantly larger than the one used in the HT3 quick-change toolholder system. The M30x2 thread is now combined with a 17 mm hexagonal socket drive which reliably transfers the necessary torque of 500 Nm. The conical stud can transmit enormous clamping forces and thus minimizes loosening of the upper part. |

Bottom Part Covered by Upper Part: Enlarging the contact surface of the upper part to completely cover that of the bottom part ensures an absolutely even and tight fit between the two. As a result when the upper part needs to be quickly replaced on a job site, the bottom part requires only minimal cleaning which allows for quicker and easier part changes.

Seal Between Upper and Bottom Parts: During the milling process fine dirt particles combine with water and enter the gap between the upper and bottom parts. Occasionally this can cause the shank of the upper part to jam into the bottom part making it more difficult to replace the upper part. In the new HT11 quick-change toolholder system, the bore in the bottom part is protected against contamination by a seal. This seal optimizes the position of the upper part in the bottom part and further reduces the time required to change parts.

The HT11 quick-change toolholder system simplifies operation and maintenance of the milling drum: In designing the new HT11 quick-change toolholder system, priority was given to simple operational and reliable maintenance techniques after rough use on the job. The result is simple components that guarantee long service life for all wear parts and the entire milling drum. As with the HT3 quick-change toolholder system, just a few parts are needed to equip a wide variety of milling drums.
