Rumble Strip Attachment Triples Productivity

The state of the art today is milled-in rumble strips. In some states doze-off accidents have been reduced by 80 percent with milled-in strips.

Over a decade ago, Wirtgen America began marketing a rumble strip attachment for the W 500 that ran at 60 feet per minute. It did an excellent job cutting rumble strips in shoulders at one cut per second.

Wirtgen America's latest high-speed design, the new Rumbler attachment for the W 60, will cut up to 180 feet per minute tripling the speed of rumble strip installation. It greatly boosts productivity and profitability due to increased production. It permits the milling machine to remain stable while the rumble strip cutter moves up and down. The Rumbler is also more versatile in its orientation to the shoulder — you can cut rumble strips on the left or the right sides of the machine.
