Preventive Maintenance & Grade Control - All Milling Machines & Recyclers
Who should attend:
The Preventive Maintenance School is intended for those persons who ordinarily do not deal with extensive repairs of milling machines, but for those who perform daily maintenance, make occasional minor repairs, and operate grade control. Although this school does not cover the techniques of operating milling machines, it will be of particular interest to both operators and groundmen. No prior knowledge of Wirtgen equipment is required.
Overview:
This course is intended to cover those topics not covered in the Electrical and Hydraulics Service Schools. Emphasis will be placed on the proper techniques of routine owner maintenance, including oil an antifreeze selection, oil and filter changes and engine fuel and cooling systems service. An in-depth look at the CGC display and the use of the information provided by that display will be undertaken.
The proper techniques of drum maintenance will be addressed in detail to enable students to achieve the optimum life out of the Wirtgen drum, tool holders, and cutter bits.
A detailed discussion of Wirtgen’s grade control systems (both Moba and Level Pro) will be given to enable students to maximize the use of that system and to resolve issues that may arise during operation.
The techniques for the operation of milling machines will not be covered in this class.
